Art jewelry for everyday expression, or for special occasions when you want to make a statement.
Most of my work is fabricated using fine silver (0.999%) or sterling silver (0.965%). Sometimes I use 24K gold foil, base metals, semi-precious stones, and vitreous enamel.
Base metals may be considered non-precious, yet they provide unique colors and characteristics in the making of jewelry that silver and gold metals cannot. Working with and combining base metals is fun and allows me to provide art jewelry at affordable price points.
Vitreous enamels bring color, vibrancy, and a jewel-like quality to my work. This is achieved through the artful fusion of glass to metal through a kiln firing process at temperatures ranging from 1400° F to 1600° F. Often, multiple layers and firings are required to bring about my intended designs.
I employ various traditional techniques in the design and hand-making process to apply texture, pattern, and color. Some of those techniques are Keum boo, fusing, etching, roller printing, stamping, and enameling.
